Tri State AAAEA
Update
Dear Colleagues,
Congratulations, the Arab American Association of Engineers and
Architects (AAAEA) for Tri-State area has been registered in the State
of New Jersey as of February 14, 2007.
On January 20th, 2007, a group of 35 engineers, architects and IT
professionals met in Lyndhurst, NJ with a group from the Chicago based
AAAEA who shared their experience with the audience. The audience was
motivated to replicate the association and decided to establish a
not-for-profit professional, non-religious, non-political organization
dedicated to serve the Tri-State Area Arab American engineers,
architects and computer scientists. Seven members were selected to form
a steering committee to initiate the process until elections.
Since then, the steering committee successfully registered the
organization and has held four meetings where the mission, goals and
objectives, membership, and upcoming activities were discussed. The
application form is being finalized and will be circulated soon.
The organization’s success is going to be measured by the success of
its members.
We encourage all of you to join us to build this organization and we
need your help to spread the word. Kindly forward this email to your

Network Analyst
Description
We are a fortune 500 company and are seeking 3 IT specialist Seeking
a Networking Analyst to join our award-winning technology team. This
position is responsible for the following: Installs and maintains all
network equipment within the Chicago land Local and Metropolitan Area
Networks, including the network equipment in all data centers in Chicago
Provides network connectivity to users and servers running
mission-critical applications Troubleshoots and resolves network
connectivity incidents and delays Executes department policies and
procedures seamlessly and maximizes customer satisfaction Participates
in new network design and implementations Recommends and implements
short and long term strategic plans to make certain network capacity
meets existing and future requirements Maintains continuous
availability by pager/cell phone 24x7 and ultimately responsible for
prompt resolution of incidents and problems affecting networking
infrastructure Participates in corporate-wide networking projects
Practices network asset management, including
maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation
Is flexible to work all shifts, including holidays and weekends in order
to provide 24x7 coverage
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or equivalent
Minimum of two year experience with LAN and/or WAN design,
installations and problem isolation and resolution Understanding of
variable length subnet masks Cisco routers and switches configurations
Cisco certifications are a plus Working knowledge of the OSI model,
switching and routing protocols including RIP, EIGRP and BGP
Understanding in using network monitoring tools, including sniffers
Working knowledge of wiring standards Strong communication,
interpersonal and organizational skills. Some travel
may be required for meeting at other Tribune locations, for training,
seminars, trade shows or vendor visits
